Proteus was in the kitchen, having some coffee and reading the newspaper when he heard someone crying and sobbing in the room.
"I DID NOT DO IT!!" somebody yelled.
Proteus' wife, Giselle, looked at him. "I am going, I am going." he said, as he put down his coffee and the newspaper down and went into the next room. There, he saw his daughter, Amy, with a toy cow behind her back. Her brother, Pajama Sam, was standing behind her, and her other brother, Ding A Ling Wolf, was sitting on the floor, crying and sobbing because Amy hit him on the head with her toy.
"Amy?" asked Proteus, "Amy, did you just hit Ding A Ling on the head with your toy cow?"
"No!" Amy replied rudely.
"Are you lying to me?"
Proteus turned to his son. "Sam?"
"She did it." Sam said.
"No one likes to tattle on other people." said Proteus, as Sam walked upstairs to his bedroom.
Proteus picked up Ding A Ling and rubbed him to stop him from crying and sobbing. Then he turned to Amy as he placed him in his playpen, saying, "All right, Amy! Go upstairs!"
"NO!!" Amy shouted.
Now Proteus was getting angry. "Anita Charlotte Hodnick Rose, I am not going to say it again! One...Two...Three!" Proteus shouted.
At that moment, Proteus angrily picked up Amy and placed her on the couch for fourteen minutes. "All right, that was it!" he said.
"What?" Amy asked. "That's right, that was it! You are in a time-out! And you will be punished! And you are not going to the funfair with Sonic tomorrow!"
Amy became very angry. She glared angrily at Proteus and yelled, "YOU ARE AS EVIL AS DR EGGMAN!!!!"
Amy then began to cry and sob, and she went upstairs to her bedroom, where her boyfriend, Sonic, and her best friends, Simba, Thumper, Flower, Chip, Dale, and Zipper, are waiting for her.
"You did the right thing, Proteus. Thank you." Giselle smiled, "What did you do?"
"I gave her a time-out on the chair for fourteen minutes for hitting Ding A Ling." Proteus said.
Giselle nodded. "Good."
"And I told her she could not go to the funfair with Sonic tomorrow."
Giselle got disappointed. "No, no, Proteus, you could not do that." she said.
Proteus had a better idea. "We'll send Boo Boo." he said.
"He was Amy's brother." Giselle said.
"Come on, Giselle." said Proteus.
"No, Proteus." Giselle implored him. "You have to unground Anne Marie."
Proteus sadly sighed, then gave in. "Giselle," he said. "Do not ask me to do something, then tell me the way I did it was wrong."
